CajunCenturion,

Wow, that's hard to do. I kept thinking, well all I need to do is turn my brain off and just look at the colors... I failed miserably. Thanks for the link.

I've seen this (or a variant of it) before, and I must have an odd brain - I don't seem to have trouble with it

Having enjoyed your company for the last couple of years, and having learned quite a few things from you along with way, I can with a clear conscience corroborate that sentiment. :)

I guess my brain's odd then too - I didn't have any trouble with it either, although I can see where many people would have problems doing this.

It's a lot easier if you highlight the entire paragraph first: white-blue-white-blue-blue-blue...or is that cheating? :)
I found it very difficult!

hilfy,
do you remember thread where was proven that people actually can read words if frist and lsat ltteers are in place but rest can be jumbled?

It is probably how average brain works - grabs whole thing vs not average like yours. I guess... To me it is not difficult but I see color and that is dominating, for you it is a word, right?

Holy rainbow! That is some concentration practice....
Great link, CajunCenturion

Katy44,

It would have been considered cheating... If the assignment was different. But as it is, you just wouldn't be able to do the assignment right.

The point is to say the name of the color of each word, and not the color named by the word. So if you saw Blue you would say "Red".

By highlighting the text, you would do just the opposite - read the word and not name it's color.

ZoomerZ,

No, I see the color not the word. But then I'm a little strange anyways - I do a lot of "fiber art", i.e. working with fabric and various plant and animal fibers. When I see fabric that I really like, I have to touch it and I can sometimes "feel" the color changes and patterns - even when there is no distinct texture changes to the pattern on the fabric. I can't do that on a computer screen, though!
