I have a huge map of the state of NC in Visio. I need to color the different districts different colors. How would this be accomplished in Visio? Would it have anything to do with layers? How do I trace the shapes of the districts and overlay they with color?

Thank you,

Rachel

How did you get the irregular shape of NC into visio???

What I would do is to get one colored by district and scan it into jpeg or gif and import it into a new visio file.

Much easier than attempting to manually draw them.

RVNGuy: Thanks for your response. These NC maps were done years ago and I have no idea how they were moved to Visio in the first place.

I can save the particular map I need to "color" in MS-Paint and possibly "doctor" it up in that app, but WHAT A LONG, DRAWN OUT PROCESS -- <LOL>!

Any other suggestions?

isn't what you want available either electronic or hard copy??

Yeah, doing it either in visio or outside in an app is a long process.

What districts are you looking for?? county?? voting?? or??

What detail level is on this orig just state outline or down to street level??/ or??

What precision are you requiring for these colored districts??
