Please give me any information regarding the device called a Smart Jack. How does it attach to the 66 Connecting Block? I know that it has lights on it, but what are the most common alarms that I should look for?

A "smart jack" is a normally passive device used at the demarcation point in a customer premise, that is used to test T-1 circuits via loopback from the CO. A code is sent down the T-1 from the CO to engage the loopback function and it is automatically reset after the loopback completes from the CO. Usually RJ-48 between the CO and your DSU/CSU.
