When I sample all areas in my Illustrator file they are exactly the RGB colors I want. When I open or place the Illustrator file in PhotoSHop one of the colors shifts to another palette. Any suggestions? Thank you!

What do you mean by this? Your color terminology seems askew. Is this onscreen only or in print?

Photoshop and Illustrator should both be working in RGB color mode since you are specifying RGB colors.

I'm sure my terminology is not correct because I'm trying to learn the program. I have received an AI file in pantone. In illustrator I made an RGB oval. I copied and pasted the pantone file into Illustrator, selected each part of the pantone file and made the parts RGB. Added a line of text and grouped all parts. It looks good on screen in Illustrator. When I open PhotoShop the colors are off; the red of the pantone file that was changed to RGB in Illustrator does not match the red in the RGB text. Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it.

In both programs, go to Edit / color settings, then under "working space" make sure you RGB settings are the same for both Illustrator and Photoshop, that is, you select the same profiles for both programs so they are handling the RGB colors the same.

While you are there do it to the CMYK as well
