I have a issue with this setup.

clj 3500 series printer, hp175x print server and a linksys wireless bridge.

Now sometimes the prints will come out right away, other times the jobs will get printed in the middle of the night. Then they will not print at all. I have unplugged the network cable from the linksys and the 175 and it started printing, other times just taking it out of power save mode will cause it to print.

any ideas

Thanks

If you take the linksys wireless away, and print over cable, does the printer always respond right away? Also, is your linksys wireless set up to issue IP addresses? If it is, by default, the jetdirect card is setup for DHCP. It really needs to be changed to static, and something outside the range of what is being issued by your router or DHCP server.

Without having any additional information, I would suspect that the ip adress on the printer is changing because of the lease expiring. When the ip is correct, the printer will print right away. If it's different, then it won't print, until the IP address that is wrong expires, and the printer successfully gets reassigned the correct IP, at that point, it will print again.

I thought that it may be the case so I set the ip on the 175x print server to a static IP and it is outside of the range of ips assigned by the network.
