COLOR laserjet 5m, TABLOID / SLOW PRINTING

I CAN GET MY 5M TO PRINT A LETTER SIZE SHEET FROM FRONT AND BACK OF THE PRINTER.

I PUT TABLOID PAPER IN, CHANGE THROUGH THE MENU THAT TABLOID IS LOADED AND I GET AN ERROR.

ALSO IF I SPOOL A WEBPAGE TO THE PRINTER SAY 6 PAGES ITS LIKE 3 MEGS AND TAKES ABOUT 60 SECONDS PER PAGE. ALSO I HAVE IT PRINITING UNDER PCL, WILL POSTSCRIPT BE FASTER AND HOW DO I GET POSTSCRIPT ON THE MACHINE THERE IS NO OPTION THROUGH THE MENUS.
ARE THESE EXPENSIZE TO RUN ADN MAINTAIN AS A WHOLE???

Check what papersize and type the printer is set up for in the menu eventually by making a menu map of the printer to get an overview. The spooling of jobs might take some time as the printer doesn`t have that much memory and some of the memory is allocated to to the printers system to handle the jobs and not storing them. There is a post script driver available in the drivers and downloads section at HP.COM. A maintenance kit will probably be expensive for this printer as it is quite old and also outdated perhaps. However there are probably several refurbished parts available for the unit fx. the fuser. Your local HP support must have a clue where to obtain these parts.
