When printing a 10 page Excel spreadsheet to a LaserJet 2600N, the Windows print spooler appears to hang (for several minutes) after printing a page or two. After several minutes pass the remaining pages will print. There is no unusual formatting in the spreadsheet... just text and a simple chart on each page. I have recreated a similar document from scratch and it exhibits the same behavior.

I have printed to a different 2600N in this organization with the same result. I have flashed printer firmware and updated printer drivers. I have even printed from different PC's with different OS's with the same result. I have even tried printing from different versions of Excel (2000/XP)

Printing a similar document from Word 2000/XP with a similar chart prints fine. I believe I'm dealing with an Excel specific problem, but I can't put my finger on it.

I'm stumped. Any sugguestions or thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Is the printer connected to another PC, or are you using a print server? I'm thinking that it's connected to a PC which is buffering the data.

The printer is connected via its onboard network card to an ethernet network. Two clients PCs access the printer via a TCP/IP connection.

I believe at one time it may have been connected via its parallel connection to the first client PC. Would that have anything to do with it perhaps?
