Hi, I am having a problem with Backup Exec and Remote Agent (surprise, surprise, surprise). I have Backup Exec on one server, and it is backing up the remote server. I have one job that does both backups. The problem the job is the remote server backs up first. Without having 2 backup jobs, I need to have the local server backup first. Any assistance would be appreciated!

Thanks so much and have a wonderful day,
Missy

What version of backup exec do you have?

Resource ordering is a new feature in backup exec 9.0, which will allow you to do what you are asking.

I am running 8.6 and 9.0 - it is mostly the 8.6
that is having problems. Thanks!!

Cheriiv,

In 9.0, it is very easy to prioritize the job order. Locate your job under the Job Setup tab, right click and open its properties. In the left hand pane of the Properties dialog, click on Resource Order. The next screen is self-explanatory. Just reorder your local job to run first.

thanks for the tip in 9, and is there
a way to do it in 8.6?
