I have created a word table that has four distinct blocks to it. I would like to separate them with a colored vertical Columns. I drew two parallel lines using autodraw but cannot figure out how to put color between the lines. Inserting a column makes a mess of my layout.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Regards Bob

Would it be enough to simply set a six point border on the sides of cells that you want to make in this “vertical column” between? Then you could just change the colour of that border to whatever you want.

Using the Draw toolbar,
Draw a vertical rectangle
Right-click the shape
Format AutoShape > Colors and Lines
Change Fill Color to [the desired color]
Change Line Color to No Line
Click OK
