Is it possible to change the colors of windows like it is in Unix and Linux? I would prefer not to have the default white background with black lettering. I have not been able to find anyway to change the settings via "System Preferences". I have been able to change the colors in Finder, but not all applications. Thanks.

From an OS perspective, I think it has to be done per application. However, there's a couple of third party apps that do what you're looking for, like ShapeShifter.

Thanks.

Brontosaurus,
I purchased ShapeShifter and it does exactly what I wanted. Thanks for the tip!
