Color Continuity between Spliced Photos 1

I used Photoshop 6 to splice together 10 photos that make up a continuous lakescape panorama. Each photo is in a different layer. The splicing went fine, except that vertical lines are visible where the photos intersect, and there are color differences from one photo to the next.

I'd like any suggestions on how to blend the colors from one photo to another and how to make the lines invisible or at least less obvious.

Thanks!

If the photos overlap slightly, then create a layer mask for each one (Layers > Create Layer Mask > Reveal All -- I don't have Photoshop on this machine, so it might be worded differently)

With the layer mask selected, either use a soft brush, or a black-white gradient to paint over the edges of each photo. The larger the overlap, the smoother the transition.

As for color variation, you should sample common areas from overlapping photos with the eyedropper, and compare the color values. It should become obvious where the color differences lie (eg, one might contain more 10% more red, so use whatever tool you like to adjust this, like curves, color balance, etc). Take several samples before adjusting, and make sure the eyedropper isn't set to 'point sample' so you can get a more representative reading.

Thanks for the quick response, Blueark! I'll give it a try.
