collection class?

Hiya,

has anyone ever written a collection class in php? I'm trying to at the moment, but it's been so long since I've done any programming, I can't really remember how a collection works. What properties and methods do I need to define a collection? How does a collection store its element objects?

any help will be much appreciated,
