New SQL Server 2005 install (Stnd edition with SP2) and the Vendor for the Application Software has these requirements:

MS SQL Server SP2 with FULL Text Indexing and Natural Language Query. Collation SQL_Latin1_General_CPI_CI_AS; Date settings Month/Day/Year

When I installed SQL Server I basically installed the Default Collation of SQL_Latin1_General - is that different from their requirements???

Also, not sure about Natural Languarge Query AND the date settings??? is Natural Language Query installed by default and how do I check or change the Date Settings????

Yes that it a different collation. It shouldn't matter, but I have seen software not install because the collation wasn't set as they wanted it.

Natural language query should be installed as part of the full text search. As long as you didn't disable it, it should be installed by default.

Basic date settings are controlled by the language of the login. If the login is set to US English it will set it to that format.

Thanks Denny!

Being that they were so specific about the colation, how do I fix it? re-install? This is a brand new install and I don't want to get bit by this later.. When I installed 2005, I didn't see any way to set SQL_Latin1_General_CPI_CI_AS ???
