I need some clarification on a printing problem I'm having.
The department has just bought a new colour laser printer and every time we print more than one "set" of a document (ie. 2 sets of a 3 page document, it prints page 1 three times, page 2 three times .... leaving the user to manually collate the documents afterwards !!
I've been told that this printer doesn't do collation - it has to have 1GB of RAM to do so. I cannot believe this because every printer I've ever bought (from £50 upwards) collates as standard.
This made me wonder - since the print dialog box has the "collate" tick-box - isn't it the PROGRAM that's sending the job that handles the collation, sending a full set, then a further set, etc, etc ?
Regards,
Julia
