we did something like that. A client had a bit of software they had written for generating product keys written in visual basic. The file was compiled and turned into an ocx file. We then installed this file onto the server using regsvr32 [name_of_file] and then used CFOBJECT to pass information to the ocx file. Worked a treat in CF 4 but doesn't work in CFMX at the moment.
