Hi All,

I'm having problems with Dreamweavers user authentication, what happening is that once logged in if a user leaves IE idle for about an hour they get booted off, as if the session held in CF memory has elapsed.

However the session/application variable settings in the CF administration panel are all set to expire after a day and also the purge option.

I'm begining to belive this is something to do with IE timing out rather than the server sessions etc.

Hi There,
I don't know if you got this sorted but I believe this can be altered in the aplication.cfm file if you are using it. I had a similar issue and I changed it in the application.cfm and it seemed to solve the issue. I think the default seesion time is something like 30 minutes. Also the session time can be altered within each page I think, so if you wanted a particular page to last longer than another this might be useful.

I am not sure on the exact structure of the application.cfm file and it's use but search the net I am sure someone has more info for you.

Hope this helps.

Rob

Thankyou SetsunaMudo, yep it was a setting in the application cfm, I to didn't realise that the setting in this file were global.

No probs, Yeah as I understand this file sits in the top directory of you session pages. All files in the directories below will look for this file session settings. Anything above this file in the directory will not be affected.
