I am trying to create an ODBC connection to sqlserver desktop edition using Coldfusion server on a Unix , but it does not seem to work. I had no problem when I connect remotely through Sql Query Analyzer. I have connected to other sqlserver's but they were standard edition. How can I fix this? Is there something different I need to do when using desktop edition?

thanks,
olmos

Are you trying to connect using the ColdFusion Administrator, or just trying to set up a standard ODBC connection? I've never had any problems connecting to SQL Server Standard or Personal Edition with the CF Adminstrator, but I've never tried it with the Desktop Edition.

Hope This Helps!

Um...Ok...how about a little info? Does it give you any errors when you try to create the connection? Can you create the connection successfully but are not able to query the datasource? If so, what are the errors saying? Have you verified that the CF Server can see the SQL Server? If it's breaking down somewhere, there will be errors telling you why. What are they?

Hope This Helps!
