ColdFusion Installation MX 2004 error 1

I am trying to install ColdFusion MX 2004 my server box uses windows 2003. As soon the installion starts the ColfFusion application goes away (flashes and goes aways) nothing happens. Is any advise of what can I check, I have gone throught the installation requierements. Do I need to install IIS before install ColFusion MX. Thanks for any help!

What version of coldfusion? DO you mean 6.0, 6.1 ?

CFMX is not supported on Windows Server 2003 just yet.

But they do have some workarounds and tell you how to get it to work.

there is a service running in windows 2003 that stops application installs from taking place. So when you attempt to start the MX install is just goes away. I forgot the name of the service running but check your events log and you will see the name of it.
