Anyone help me with steps to do coldbackup of 9208 database.

Thanks in advance

Zircon,

this is easy. Just copy all the files somewhere else and you're done. This obviously won't take care of pfiles, spfiles etc. but it is a quick kill.

Occasionally I do it, but I prefer and recommend RMAN.

As an added clarification to Tharg's correct suggestion(s) (and your title's implication): Be sure to do a "SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE" prior to copying all of the database data files; unless you follow proper hot-backup procedures, copying database datafiles from an open database results in an unreliable backup.
