Hi,

i have 2 10g databases on different machines.

i am taking a cold backup of dbA and copying all files to the exact same location on server b where the other database is based.

how do i get the second database up and running with the datafiles etc from b?

Thanks

As a quality check in your case, could you please confirm what types/classes of files you have copied from Server A to Server B? (e.g. Database data files, on-line redo log files, and hopefully more, but I want to hear from you what those additional files are.)

Also, have you tried starting up Server B's database yet with Server A's db files? If so, what were your results? If there were errors, could you please post them here.
