COGNOS Web Services/SDK & 3rd Party Applications

hello all ~ i've been tasked to research methods in integrating COGNOS web applications with a .NET application. we need the .NET application because we have to display image-blobs to the end-user (to my knowledge, COGNOS cannot connect natively to an image blob). the image-blobs are located in an oracle 9i database. does anyone out there have any success in using CWS and SDK components on COGNOS version 7.1 to connect and pass parameters to other web-based applications? much thanks in advance for any assistance.....
