Cognos vs. Business Objects 1

My company is trying to do a PROS and CONS comparison b/w Cognos and Business Objects (latest version of each) and I was wondering if anyone knows any websites where such a comparison is made?
There are hundreds of users accross geographies and lines of business.

This is a common q, and you might want to use the Search facility. One result is thread401-311628. Of course, with the latest version and new tek-tippers, there may be further points to post.

I would note two matters:
1) You don't mention it, but if your company is considering a BI product, it would be a sensible to also determine what you want the product to do for your company (categories such as essential, preferred, useful) and then see which product matches your needs best. Apologies if this is the case.

2) Version 8 of Cognos is due for presentation next month. It may well change your decision.

Microstategy and Cognos you can compare. Microstegy has screwed up licenses though. However Business Objects isn't even in the same league. Cognos is the leader in BI tools and most often has the most pros and least cons in comparisons that are done.
