COGNOS V8.4 Query Studio (is crap)

Sorry for the subject slam - but it's frustrating using this tool.

In attempting to introduce If/then/else statements via a query in V8.4 Query Studio, I've mod'd my capabilities/role to include the advanced functionality as mandated from the COGNOS documentation. While additional functionality is available from this adjustment, it doesn't allow If/then/else statement introduction & processing.

With my knowledge I think that it's not possible to do IF Then Else sentence direcly in a Query Studio report. It's simple tools for the kind of users who only need to do simple report or data extraction. You should use Report Studio for more complex reports. If you need to let user work with data that is the result of an If Then Else sentence you could add it direcly in the model build with Framework Manager. After publication you would be able to use this new column in that query subject that would return the IF Then Else answer.
