Hopefully, one of you can answer my question about cubes and Upfront.

When I am in a cube in Upfront, and then publish a resulting 'report' (a particualr view of this cube) to another Newsbox, does this cube have a physical existance somewhere on the Cognos Server like it's 'parent' cube?

Thanks!

the view (report) will be based on the same physical cube as you started your analysis on.

When you create a view from a cube, and save it in Upfront.
It s adding a new entry in PPES under Imported Reports folder , name is a long string.
You can see that you have the same folders tree in Imported reports folder as in your root folder in PPES.
When saving a view , 2 files are created : a PPX file which contains your view definition and a CFX file which tells to PPES which PPX should be opened.

Saving a view doesn't affect the MDC file, and if you update your cube , the view shows the new data
