Cognos Upfront gateway

We are currently using the basic signon for Cognos Upfront gateway (login.cgi). We want to change it use a Perl script which authenticates using an enterprise security mechanism. The redirection to the enterperise system works as such but since the logic to place the cookie (ticket) is not there in the perl script there is infinite looping.

Does anyone knowif we can alter the login.cgi to remove the user-id and password fields and replace it with our own code ? We just have the executable for the login.cgi.
