I have just completed self training with Cognos CDs for Reportnet. Is the Cognos training worth doing after taking the self training with the CDs ? Anyone done both ?

was there a tour for FM on CDs?

or if you could list what all they have on CDs?

Ravina:
I only bought CD's for Query Studio and ReportNet. I think Framework Manager comes with Admin Training CDs.

Followings are covered in the CDs.

Query Studio Topics:
---------------------
Introduction to Cognos Connection
Introduction to Query Studio
Create Reports in Query Studio
Manage Reports in Cognos Connection
Course Summary

ReportNet Topics:
------------------
Introduction to Cognos Connection
Introduction to the Reporting Application
Author and Format Simple Reports
Filter Your Data
Create and Use Prompts
Add Advanced Formatting to Your Reports
Manage Reports in Cognos Connection
Course Summary

Thanks.

If you have taken the CD based training for Query Studio, then you will not really learn anything new by attending the classroom training too, as the same material is covered.

For Report Studio, things are a bit different. The CD training for Report Studio only covers the basics of reporting, and is equivalent to the first day of the 2-day "Report Authoring Part 1" course run in the classroom. There's also a "Report Authoring Part 2", which is another 3 days of advanced classroom training not covered on CD.

Bottom line is no further Query Studio training required, but you may benefit from the Report Authoring 1 and 2 courses.

Regards,

MF.
