We are trying to run Cognos Scheduler and are getting the following error:

CognosBatcherBI60

CognosBatcher.ServiceRequest
Permission Denied

Nothing has changed in configuration/setup. Related to this, how do we run Scheduler after we log off on the server? Seems that after you log off, the Scheduler turns off. Is there a way to install Cognos Scheduler as an NT service (Windows 2000 Server)?

Thanks,
Saira

Im not too sure about what is causing the error message.

However, In scheduler I think there is an option somewhere (sorry I cant be more specific, I havent looked at it in a while) where you can elect to "run scheduler in taskbar"...I have a feeling that this runs shceduler regardless of whether the server is signed in or not.

This is a good suggestion, unfortunately, I cannot even get the Scheduler to start in order for me to select this option.

Any other suggestions?

Saira

Hey,

Not sure if this will be of any use, it's straight from the cognos support site:

Description:
Error:

CognosBIBatcher60
CognosBatcher.ServiceRequest
Permission Denied

when trying to launch Scheduler 6.0(26) on a WinNT machine.

Solution:
Set up any additional users that have access to this box in DCOM.

Steps:
1. Run the following Dcomcnfg.exe from run command
under the default security tab (default access permissions).
2. Add the additional users that have access to this machine
3. Reboot the machine
