Hello! Is it possible to save a cognos report in a queue first (or as text) instead of displaying it directly in the screen? Thanks!!!!

Cognos is a vendor of many reporting applications, which one are you using ? Please be more specific about your needs the question doesn't make much sense to me.

what we want is to directly save the reports as txt to be able to fax it directly.. (with the use of formscape).
actually, i played with the options yesterday and I found out that instead of directly displaying it in the screen, I can save it as pdf, xls, csv, xml and html. so, I think that basically answers my question. but i have another question regarding this.. can we specifically say where cognos should save these files?

thanks!!! :)

In short No !

The files will always be saved into the Reportsets Output folder, nor do you have any control over the name of the saved file.

Cognos has a seperate product called Noticecast which is used for automatic emailing and faxing of reports.

thanks so much! I didn't know that Cognos has a separate product for emailing and faxing of reports. :)
