Hi All,

I am taking the Cognos ReportNet certification and already passed 3 of the 4 tests (user, admin, author), but this last one gives me a lot of headache "modeling".

So i would like ask for help from somebody who is expert in framework or passed this test.

thx kEndE

what exactly did you need help with? I have passed all the tests and I do not see this one as standing out from the others.

I have already tryed this test 3 times so i have only two more chances. At the last test i achived 64%, which is still far from 80%.

So i would like to ask you to review my msword document in which i collected test questions.

nemtom, I'd be interested to see what you're up against and may be able to add something

this is an interesting thread.. why are you so keen on passing the test as opposed to learning how to model?? what will the certificate help you with if you don't know how to model properly?

nemtom,

do you still need help with this test? Let me know.

thanks

ok ok.. now this peaks my interest.. where are the questions at?? :)

Hi All,

I am taking ReportNet certification and failed the test (user) two times. I feel very bad and almost lost confidence because I don't know the correct answers to some questions (especially some questions that seem vague to me).

So I need some help and am wondering if anyone here can give me some help.

Thanks.

What I want to know is why anybody things these certifications mean anything? They are 2 to 3 versions behind current products anyway. If you can model then you can model, a Cognos cert doesn't mean a thing.

I see this thread has been going for a while now and I'd like to throw in my 2c worth. Personally I loath the Cognos certification >:-<. These kind of exams suit some people and not others - I'm in the latter camp having a serious mental block with all exams not just Cognos. I'm not stupid, my mind just doesn't work that way and while in a minority I know I'm not alone in this.

I've been doing Cognos for years as a contractor (i.e. must have a bit of an understanding) but I just can't get the certification. Many of the questions are vague and the the answers debatable. Unless it's changed recently, there's no way to discuss your results and learn from your 'mistakes'.

If the system suits the way you think then you will have little complaint with the process and I wish you well but certification is no substitute for experience - I'm with CognosChicago on this.

Stuff the certification process, it must make quite a few dollars for Cognos Corp with the number of re-sits there seem to be. Lack of certification has not been a problem for me but if it becomes a requisite for getting work then I'm in trouble and the Cognos world will lose me
