Here is the scenario :

Windows 2000
Database Oracle 9i

I have cognos reportnet v.1.02.419.0 installed
-> cognos/crn
and also installed the framework 1.1.413.8
-> cognos/crn1

I already changed the version of the jce1_2_2 for both

\cognos\crn\bin\jre\1.3.1\lib\ext and
\cognos\crn1\bin\jre\1.3.1\lib\ext
also changed for oracle that was using the old version.

Also added the classes12.jar for both directories
->\cognos\crn\webapps\p2pd\WEB-INF\lib
->\cognos\crn1\webapps\p2pd\WEB-INF\lib

Ok. For the reportnet, the cognos connection starts and seems that everything is fine. I can also add the database in the directory ... that in my case is called CM1.

I open the cognos configuration for framework and the cryptography is working fine , everything is saved.
But when i start the framework and i added the database... used the string to connect the oracle system/admin@CM1 , it says that it's sucessfully tested. When i try to use the database it gives the following message :

QE-DEF-0368 Unable to decrypt user name and password credentials from the content store. Use Cognos Configuration to configure your reporting environment.

I checked the log created and it says :

1824 2007-02-28 15:51:57.421 -08 1856 CRP 1064 1 Audit.RTUsage.CAM.CRP Failure <messages><message><messageString><![CDATA[Could not decrypt the CSK response.]]></messageString></message></messages>
1824 2007-02-28 15:51:57.453 -08 1856 CRP 1064 1 Audit.RTUsage.CAM.CRP Failure <messages><message><messageString><![CDATA[Could not load CSK store and requesting the current CSK from the remote CM failed.]]></messageString></message></messages>

Does anybody knows what I have to do so i can connect to my database and bring the data to framework manager ?
Please... i will really appreciate. Just don't know anymore what to do ...

Thanks...

Remove the cognos/crn1/configuration/encryptkeypair and signkeypair directory.
Start you FM configuration manager and save the configuration.
You should get fresh encryption keys from the server during the save (those 2 directories shoul dbe created again) and then give it another try.

Why the mix in crn en FM version?

Stefan

Thanks.
I did that but it's not quite what made it work.
I copied the csk folder from cognos\crn\configuration to cognos\crn1\configuration and worked.

You said:

PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!

Use the same version of the CRN server and FM. This is just going to fail at some point... I would highly suggest you upgrade the server.. the version in use here is archaic!

It will no doubt save properly when you copy the csk folder over, but you are just setting yourself up for disaster using mixed versions!
