Cognos and Veritas issue?

Hello to all:

We just installed Veritas Backup Exec in a Win2003 server running all of our Cognos software. After the Veritas installation, ETL performance decreased, process time increased, and cube generation practically stopped (one cube that used to take 40 minutes, took 32 hours).

Is there any known issues between Veritas Backup and Cognos? If so, does anyone know how to correct it? I was told by some friends that all Cognos services are supposed to be disabled before installing Veritas. Is it true?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
