Hi all,
New to the forum and need a little advice. What I am trying to achieve to be able to run a script to test the condition of the QueryService. As there is no actual windows service for this and the process seems to contained in a java process along with other services i am strugling to find a way to do this. I have noticed that when the QueryService has an issue (i.e has hung or has gone down) this is displayed in the admin console (system>server>QueryService) under status. Does anyone know where this piece of info is stored? i.e in a log file or xml file or a database table somewhere? i am very much a newbi to cognos so am still trying to find my way round so appologies if im not using the correct terminology. The whole purpose of this is so that we can automate a script to notify the admins that there is an issue rather than waiting for the users to log an issue therefore minimising down time. I did look at using the logging information however have come to realise that if we use full logging on the QueryService then performance is affected. I ahve spent an awful lot of time trying to figure this out and have got nowhere hence my post here. We are using Cognos 10.2.2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Komo
