Cognos 8 becomes slow and Report Studio does not save

I am facing a peculiar problem where after we connect to cognos connection and work for about 20 mins, everything becomes very slow.

The icons stop refreshing and often we are unable to save the work in report studio.

We have to restart in cognos configuration to fix the problem.

Has anyone had the same issue and could please provide some solutions.

We are using Cognos 8.2
