Cognos 8.3 with IE8 - unsupported config

We are trying to determine whether there are any technical issues around running 8.3 FP5 with IE 8. I know that this is not a supported browser configuration but also am aware that other companies are running without problem. Generally, there are no problems - reports run, query studio edits. We've noticed a couple of things that may be related to just our environment.

1) Cannot open Report Studio. This gives an error message that is on the IBM support site 'CM-REQ-4066 ' and the response is 'Unsupported browser'..

Has anyone else encountered this situation or is RS opening up fine?

Try running IE8 in IE7 compatibility mode and see if that eases the pain. We have encountered various problems with customers including problems with analysis studio. It is a pure a matter of luck (some config) when everything works like it should.
8.4 does not officially support IE 8, 8.4.1 does!
