Cognos 7 and AS400

My comapany recently migrated to a new DMS system that runs on an iSeries with AS 400. We previously used an AIX based system with Cognos as our reporting tool. The AS 400 offers a query tool (Query 400) that is not very helpful in the sense that you cannot use conditional statements in the query. Is there any way of connecting our Cognos 7 to the AS 400 machine for reporting? Some ODBC perhaps? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
