I am trying to create a custom calculation/field in COGNOS 10 Workspace Advanced that can identify the total units for my specialty products based on a specialty indicator ('Y').

Specialty Ind is a dimension that includes 'Y' and 'N'.
Total Units is a number/metric

With my previous reporting tool Business Objects, I was able to write the below formula. Does Cognos have something similar?

=[Total Units] Where ([Specialty Ind]=”N”)

-Thanks for any assistance.

Create a calculated field with SQL "If [Speciality Ind] = "Y" then 1 else 0"
Then a 2nd calculated field which totals up all the 1's in the first calculated field, taking
any other sub-grouping into account.
