In a flash movie, does adding more coding(ie. a lot of actionscript code like "if then" statements, variables, expressions etc.)

increase movie size?

or does adding scripting not affect movie size?

if anyone knows...please let me know.

It does, but nominally. The content of your scripting will effect the running speed of the SWF, but the amount of, or content of, your scripting won't really impact the file size that much. _____________________________________________________

That's especially true with MX as the new "compress swf" publish option works mainly on code bringing it's impact on file size down to virtually nothing (although it wil slow down script execution very slightly).

that's good news. thanks for your expert posts. by the way, what is Flash MX? They also have a dreamweaver MX and some other MS softwares. I went to their web site... but no where is it explained what MX stands for or what it is....do you guys know?

"MX" doesn't actually stand for anything it's just a marketing ploy.
