to see code samples of vfp8?
especially sql commands in general,
and sql update command in particular
the vfp online help samples are
extremely deficient.

The syntax for VFP SQL commands is not so very different from standard SQL. Rather than looking for a VFP-specific site, you should focus on SQL in general. Later, you can learn the minor differences in VFP.

Another good way of learning is to experiment.
