Hello

A brief summary of my problem. I am sending a lrg document throgh to a Lexmark printer in PCL format. We have been running into a problem with the output on the page shifting to the right. This appears to be random in its occurance and at what point during the printing of the output it occurs

The fix
we are sending the output through a generic print queue setup on a win98 machine. When investagating the settings for this generic print queue we noticed that the character mapping was set to ‘TTY Custom’ there were two other choices code page 850 and code page 467. I set this option to code page 850 an re-ran the job. All has worked well since

Can anyone expalin the defferences in this 3 options for this setting and where can I go to read up on this topic.

Thanks for any replys

Are you sure that is 467 and not 437?

These are character sets. Documents encoded in one character set will not print correctly, or as desired, when printed in another character set.

for information on internet character sets

a codepage is a list of selected character codes in a certain order.

I hope this answers your questions

yup you are right 437 not 467 thanks for the reply!!
