I have just upgraded from D2005 to XE2. I had code completion and error insight switched off in D2005 because it was a pain. Now, 8 years later I discover that there are still problems. Even a simple program is full of squiggly lines indicating that unit names cannot be resolved or classes do not have this member, even though it compiles and runs.

Is there any solution?

(running on 64 bit Windows 7)

Error Insight is for VB loosers :)

disabled it in D2005 and since then never looked back, I don't need it / miss it.

By some strange alchemy, it has all started working. When I started Delphi and found no squiggly lines, I checked the options and found I had left all the tooltip stuff disabled in my efforts to solve the problem. I have re-enabled them and it is still working.

This is even more unsettling than if it just didn't work.

It's always been a puzzling epidemic. One minute, it's complaining about missing units, the next minute, without even changing one line of code, it suddenly realizes the units are not missing.
