COBOL with regard to DB2 Timestamps and Views

I'm a government employee doing an analysis on introducing DB2 Views into our environment(DB2, COBOL, VB, PowerBuilder, BiQuery).

One of my managers asked me this question:

WHAT HAPPENS to COBOL programs with regard to DB2 timestamps if we have to change a view?

Any ideas?
