Just a question to now for sure...

Is there a tool or something that can be used to convert AS/400 Cobol to AS/400 RPG???

The one who is still all ears... :^)

I have worked on AS400's for 3.5 years and would have killed for a Cobol to RPG tool.
If there is one out there I think someone is going to be amking a lot of money from it (i.e. it ain't gonna be free). But the closest I came was a product called Synon 2/E. It can't assimilate pre-written native code (just provides wrapper functionality for importing existing programs into the model) but provides a standardised interface for creating AS/400 applications. There is a switch in it that lets you generate Cobol OR RPG.

The product was originally released by Synon, who were taken over by Sterling Software, who were taken over by Computer Associates, I believe the product is now called Jasmine Web 2E, and has been enhanced to create web pages too.

(Sorry COBOL bods, but on the AS400 RPG beats COBOL hands down)

However, if in the meantime you do find a product that does what you want - let me know it would be quite interesting to take a look at.
