MSSQL Progression 7.6.3 - After using the Progression setup utility to create the new database and log files I then proceed to Company Maintenance (I am only creating company in order to have a place to restore a backup). I complete everything by duplicating the items in our main company, save and then exit. On exit it begins initialization. I answer yes to all the pop up boxes and in the end get the following error message:
----------------------------------------------
COBOL ERROR REPORT
jmw0001I-I THE ERROR OCCURED IN 'F:\MACSQL\MACEXE.EXE'
'10/08/2004(12:39:25)'
'APPLICATION ERROR'
'EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION(C0000005')
----THEN THE FILE LOCATION OF THE ERROR REPORT
-----------------------------------------------
I do not see any functionality problems with the company after that but am afraid I may be missing something. Note that if, during initialization, I click no in response to "Enter System Period Records for Selected Packages" I do not get the error however I also noted that when I restore backup to this company the prt files do not restore to the folder as expected.

I'm not sure why you received the error but I wouldn't worry about it. Everything for the company is contained within the database. Since you are going to restore a backup of your live company on top of the one you just created, it's going to be a duplicate of the live one.

As for the prt files. Restoring the database isn't copying the files from one data folder to another. You'll have to do that manually if you wanted them to come over. Most of the time, people are restoring the backups for different reasons like a test company or to get a specific table from the database. The print files really have nothing to do with that.
