Hi,

Now i know that i can make a connection with ODBC.
What i need is the AcuODBC-driver.
Is this free to download and does anybody now where ?

Thanks.

None of the AcuCOBOL stuff (AcuODBC, runtime, etc) is free or available for download.

You can use ADODB via ActiveX to get to Access, SQL Server, Excel, etc files in AcuCOBOL at no cost.

Thanks for your reply Glenn.

Is it possible to be a litlle bit more specific.
I don't have any clue about cobol so can you tell me what to do.
Thanks a lot

Hi

The instructions Glenn mentioned should be applicable to any version of Cobol that has access to Active-x controls (Acu Cobol and MicroFocus Cobol are two good examples). Can you tell us what version/vendor you're using?

If the type of Cobol you're using supports this, you would end up using ADO just like from within VB (same methodology of using connections, recordsets, etc.), but the syntax of the verbs would be different (AcuCobol, for example, uses the MODIFY verb to execute a method, CREATE to instatiate an object, etc).
