We currently have two floors of distribution for coax. (26 lines on each floor.) We are getting crapping reception so I want to test each line and replace/fix those causing interference. What are you suggestions? I already plan to replace any splits with home runs. I also want to install better distribution blocks and amplifiers. Your help is greatly appreciated.

In the future everything will work...

I guess there are two things you could do

1) Sweep each piece with an oscillator with the test set on the far end.

2) Put a TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer) on each one, if there are damaged or wet portions they should show up on the TDR

Don't forget, RG-59 is old school and RG-6 will give noticeably better performance (and can be used for Satellite if necessary)

Good luck
