I have a Customer that has outgrown their CICS and now is going into a MICS with a 0x16 mod added. They will have a lot of sets but only have 3 CO lines now. Chances are all lines will be busy by the users which then will give a busy signal to incoming calls.

Does anyone know the standard configuration for CO lines to sets so as to prevent traffic issues? Is there a matrix available for these calculations?

I have read that 3 lines for 8 sets then it jumps to 1 line per 2 sets for larger systems.

No such thing but as a general to start maybe 8 lines to every 20 people.
Reason is because every business is different.....I have seen 60 people get by on 10 lines because the business does not call for telephone use every second of the day.
Manufacturers, Marketing, or Order taking is high volume as an example.

In your case since they had a CICS which goes up to 24 (minus 2 for vmail) I presume they had about 20-22 users on 3 lines?
Add 3 more lines, let reception monitor the calls and if they need more or less then order or cancel as required.
