We have a customer with a Vodavi STS system and we have the fax and credit card lines running through the system. At times, both of these lines will light up on all the digital phones on the system even though the lines are not in use. Could the fax and credit card machines be interferring co line signals?

have you put your test set across the lines in question when they light up to see if they are actually going off hook??

I would assume the credit card and fax are connected to the two SLT ports on the STS? By default the SLT ports should access line group 01. If the digital stations have the line appearance of the credit card and fax lines, and access to line group 01, it would seem that eiter some one is off hook on one of those lines, or one of the devices is using one of those lines. Try programming a flex button on one digital station with the port numbers of the SLT devices. That way you will be able to see the line in use and the station that is using it
