CMS Trunk Speed Issue

Hi all,

This is a bit of a wierd one...

We have 3 Cisco 3508 switches setup as our network core. Each of these switches have 2 sx gbics, each fibre is connected to one of the other core switches so that the stack is fully fault tollerant.

The problem is that CMS reports all incomming links to Core_A are running at 10mbit, whereas other links are stated as 1000mbit

The problem is not just CMS reporting incorrectly, as when monitoring the link a 5mbit/sec transfer accounts for 50% of the link utilisation, so the links are definatly running slow. In comparison the same trafic accounts for 0.5% on the 100mbit links
The strange thing is that a 'show int' reports that the links are up at 1000mb.

also all of the links are set to auto, and none have been forced to 10mbit or anything silly like that.
Also i should mention that all of these links are ISL trunks, as we are running VTP.

could this be a problem with the IOS version on core_A as that is the only thing i can come up with?

What happens if you force the speed to 100 or 1000Mbit?

What is the Duplex running at? Full, half or auto?
