I was doing my bi-weekly check of the real-time Trunk Group reports. In one of my trunk groups (TAC 21), I have 2 trunks that are in a Seized state for 5+ days. The trunks are 02B17003 and 02B17006.

My question: how can I tell what devices have these trunks? Does trunk 02B17003 equal port address 02B1703?

Thank you for your help/insight!

Yes it does. Just do a disp port 2b1703. Then when you have the group and member, do a status trunk X/YYY to see what station port is connected. It's probably someone's modem.

Thank you for the quick response. The mystery deepens:

The above steps show that my two trunks in question are both connected to the same board (01E0210 and 01E0212). However, 01E02 is my VAL announcement board (TN2501). Why is my VAL board receiving an incoming call? I do not have any remote management for the switch, and the VAL Manager software is only installed on one PC (mine).

Any thoughts? Or should I dump this one onto the Avaya support team in Denver? Can I busy/release the port (or does that only work for stations?)

Busy and release the trunk port. Monitor the situation and see if it happens again. -CL
