CMS Service not starting after install (BOE XI R1)

Platform: Win2003, BOE XI R1

I've just installed BOE XI R1 on a test server - I want to test the upgrade to BOE XI R2.

But the CMS service is not starting after the install. The error I get in the event log is 'The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: Unable to load keycode.dll).'

any ideas?

A Manual uninstall seemed to do the trick.

I Removed BOE XI R1 using the add/remove program in the control panel.

I then removed the directories E:\Program Files\Business Objects
and C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0

I was then able to install BOE XI R1 without any problems.
